In anticipation for the release of the '80s-set "X-Men: Apocalypse," a viral marketing site has launched, featuring playable in-world arcade games from the film, inspired by Atari games from the era.

At the URL SpacePortArcade.com (named for Space Port Arcade, which features in the film) fans can find three faux retro video games -- designed by actual Atari artists from back in the day -- titled Mutant Conquest, Mutant All-Stars Track & Field and Revenge of Hero X. The titles reflect the fictional world of "X-Men: Apocalypse," which sees mutants and humans co-existing on Earth.

Here are some official descriptions for each game and box art, in addition to gameplay videos from IGN:

  • Mutant Conquest -- Secrets long buried beneath the Egyptian sands are yours to uncover - if you can survive. Beware the Four Protectors of the Pyramid, who will stop at nothing to prevent your escape from the perils of their catacombs.
  • Track & Field: Mutant All-Stars -- Run, jump, and throw your way to victory in this amazing All-Star competition that pits you against the world's most elite mutant athletes in a head-to-head competition for Gold medal supremacy.
  • Revenge of Hero X -- After defending the universe from the Zombie invasion of Planet-2149, Hero X returns for a new mission - saving humanity from a deadly robot apocalypse that has enslaved the world.

Directed by Bryan Singer and starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Rose Byrne, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, Tye Sheridan and more, "X-Men: Apocalypse" hits theaters stateside on May 27.
