The Yamanaka, Nara, and Akimichi Clans have had a long friendship that went back for several generations. Because of their close friendship and complete trust in one another, they have a deep bond. The Ino-Shika-Cho formation was born out of this bond and utilized the abilities of each member to support the team.
The Ino-Shika-Cho formation appears with each new age of Yamanaka, Nara, and Akimichi. With each new generation, new abilities arise. The formation proves that there is power not just in brute strength but also in understanding each member's unique abilities to support the team.
9 Inojin
Inojin has inherited various traits and skills from both his parents. He is a talented artist and uses the art-based ninjutsu of his father. He also possesses an aptitude for his mother's sensory abilities.
Even though Inojin is more interested in his art ninjutsu, he still shows a willingness to learn sensory skills and has even completed the mind transfer jutsu. His greatest strength is that he is the most level-headed of the new Ino-Shika-Cho formation. He is the only one who suggested the trio train to learn the Ino-Shika-Cho techniques.
8 Shikadai
Like his father, Shikadai has a rather lax attitude but a powerful intellect. He has already mastered the Nara Hiden and is considered a prodigy. He is a very tactical fighter and analyzes situations to plan moves ahead of his opponents.
Perhaps Shikadai's greatest strength, however, is his strong moral code. He doesn't believe in cheating to win, and he knows when to back down from a fight when the odds are stacked against him.
7 Chocho
The newest member of the Akimichi Clan is Chocho. Like all the Akimichi, she can convert her calories into chakra to use for her clan's body expanding techniques. Chocho uses the Partial Multi-Size Jutsu even before she graduates from the academy.
Her abilities continue to grow as she trains. She can use the Super Multi-Size Technique, Human Bullet Tank, and Butterfly Transformation. Her greatest strength lies in her self-confidence in herself and her skills.
6 Ino
At a young age, Ino was praised as one of the strongest kunoichis of her generation and considered a potential young prodigy among the Yamanaka Clan. She possesses three nature transformations and can use her clan's ninjutsu.
Ino is the strongest sensory type ninja in Konoha and of the Head of the Sensory Division. Not only is Ino an exceptional Sensory Ninja, but she is also a professional Medical Ninja and member of the Konoha Torture and Interrogation Force.
5 Shikamaru
Shikamaru is a very skilled shinobi who can use his clan's Hiden, his signature move being the Shadow Imitation Technique. Although lazy by nature, Shikamaru has very high intelligence. He uses his skills to outsmart his opponents in battle, analyzing every detail in his surroundings, no matter how insignificant.
Shikamaru is very skilled in ninjutsu; however, his greatest strength is his selflessness and willingness to look past troublesome responsibilities if it benefits his friends. He becomes the deputy- commander of the Fourth Division and chief strategist of the Allied Shinobi Forces. Eventually, he becomes the right-hand man of the Seventh Hokage.
4 Inoichi
Inoichi is a shinobi of great renown in the field of sensory intelligence. He is in charge of the Intelligence Division of Konoha. During the Fourth Great Shinobi War, he was responsible for receiving and transmitting critical information from headquarters.
Inoichi's greatest strength is his devotion to his family and allies. Because of this, Shikaku asks him to help during their final moments before the Ten-Tails bombing of headquarters. He connects the minds of the entire Shinobi Alliance and allows Shikaku to relay a strategy for defeating the Ten-Tails.
3 Shikaku
Shikaku is a Jonin level shinobi and the leader of the Nara Clan. He is an excellent strategist with brilliant intellect. As the Jonin Commander of Konoha, he becomes the Allied Shinobi Forces Chief Strategist during the Fourth Great Shinobi War.
It is during the war that Shikaku's true strength shows. Sometimes strength comes in the form of resolve. Even though Shikaku knew headquarters would be destroyed, he calmly and collectedly came up with a strategy to defeat the Ten-Tails and successfully relay that to the battlefield.
2 Choza
Choza, the Fifteenth leader of the Akimichi Clan, has incredible strength. He was able to stop the giant tail of Kinkaku and the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path by himself. During the Fourth Shinobi War, he used his body as a shield when a reincarnated Asuma used explosive attacks.
He can use and maintain his clan's body expanding techniques for long periods of time without a noticeable impact on his chakra reserves. Choza uses his strength and abilities in conjunction with fellow shinobi. He is part of the First Division in the Fourth Shinobi War in a defense effort against the Akatsuki coalition.
1 Choji
Choji's greatest strength is his kindness towards others. Many people, including Shikamaru, Choza, and Asuma, recognized Choji's heart as his greatest strength, and in return, they earned his complete trust. Many times in battle, Choji goes so far as nearly sacrificing himself to save his friends.
He is solid and durable and can use his clan's body-expanding techniques. The strongest technique is converting chakra into giant butterfly wings that increase his power a hundredfold, allowing him to defeat an opponent with a single blow. As an adult, Choji is the strongest person in Konoha.
