Warner Bros. has released a new set of stills from its next DC Animated Movie, Injustice.

Based on NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's 2013 DC fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us, Warner Bros. Animation's Injustice sees Superman (Justin Hartley) driven mad with grief after the Joker (Kevin Pollak) tricks him into killing Lois Lane (Laura Bailey) and detonating a nuclear bomb that destroys Metropolis. After killing the Man Who Laughs in revenge, the Man of Steel institutes martial law and begins to rule Earth as a dictator, splitting the Justice League down the middle in the process. What follows is a superhero civil war, with Batman (Anson Mount) forming an insurgency to oppose Superman's Regime.

Ahead of the film's Oct. 19 release, Warner Bros. has shared four new images from Injustice. The first takes place early in the film, with Green Lantern (Brian T. Delaney) using his power ring to shield himself, Batman and Wonder Woman (Janet Varney), as well as a detained Joker and Harley Quinn (Gillian Jacobs), from a massive explosion.

Second is an image that takes place as the members of the Justice League begin to take sides as "Superman's new world order" starts to take hold. Wonder Woman, Superman's "closest ally" in the conflict, appears to be backed by the likes of Aquaman (Derek Phillips), Cyborg (Brandon Micheal Hall), Captain Atom (Fred Tatasciore), Shazam (Yuri Lowenthal) and Hawkman.

Next up, we have Green Arrow (Reid Scott), who is given "an especially complicated assignment" beyond his usual duties in Injustice. Finally, there's an image of the aforementioned Harley Quinn, who appears to be in the same setting as Green Arrow. Warner Bros. notes that, at this point in the movie, Harley is "up to her old tricks -- and turning over new leaves -- as the stakes rise and the lines between heroes and villains blur."

In addition to the original Injustice video game, the upcoming animated film takes its cues from the DC comic book Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year One, written by Tom Taylor and illustrated by the likes of Jheremy Raapack, Mike S. Miller, Bruno Redondo, Axel Gimenez, David Yardin, Tom Derenick, Marc Deering, Diana Egea, Kevin Maguire, Neil Googe, Xermanico and Jonas Trindade.

Injustice releases on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray and Digital on Oct. 19.
