The popular DC Comics fighting game Injustice 2 has one of the most extensive selection of characters to choose from for a video game but the final roster nearly had additional magical heroes from the DC Universe to join the fray.

Senior concept artist Justin Murray has posted unused designs for the game on to his Artstation account including John Constantine, Detective Chimp, The Demon Etrigan, Krypto, and Batman sidekick Bluebird.

Given the game's darker incarnation of the classic DC Universe, the designs for Detective Chimp, Krypto, and Bluebird reflect the more lethal tone as Detective Chimp wears more survivalist gear and weapons while sporting a large tattoo, Krypto looks more extraterrestrial than the comic book source material, and Bluebird is armed with two very large guns.

The final roster did include more paranormal characters than its predecessor with Doctor Fate, Enchantress, and Swamp Thing though DC's premier occultist John Constantine and the rhyming demon Etrigan would have both been welcome additions to the final cast as well.
