Injustice 2 has been introducing a new DLC character each month, and as it nears the end of its nine downloadable fighters, NetherRealm Studios' hit sequel has rolled out a gameplay trailer to introduce Enchantress and her magical abilities.

This is the first time Enchantress has shown up in the Injustice universe, and her origin is more or less the same as depicted in Suicide Squad: June Moon had the unfortunate luck of being possessed by a demon with eyes toward global domination. June attempts to use her new powers for good, but given the way Enchantress thrashes her enemies in this trailer, she has her work cut out for her. In addition to magic blasts and swords, Enchantress can briefly summon interdimensional demons and split someone's soul from their body, which is a new level of "stop hitting yourself."

The all-too ordinary life of June Moone ended the day she was possessed by the Enchantress, a demonic sorceress with aspirations of world domination. Today, she fights for her very soul, struggling to harness the Enchantress’ magic for good. If she fails, the Enchantress will consume her - and our world won’t be far behind.

Enchantress joins the cast of Injustice 2 on Jan. 9. Following her in February will be the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It's unknown whether NetherRealm will stop at those nine, however, or continue with a small batch of fighters, similar to what the studio did with Mortal Kombat X.
