Warner Bros. Interactive and NetherRealm have unveiled gameplay footage featuring Aquaman's archenemy, Black Manta, after the villain was announced in the next downloadable Fighter Pack for Injustice 2. Manta will join Hellboy and Mortal Kombat's Raiden as three new characters to the franchise. The newly released clip shows Manta unleashing a full range of moves on the King of Atlantis.

With a surprisingly large arsenal to choose from, the video highlights his water cannons, jetpack, knife attacks, explosives, rockets and his signature harpoon gun from the comics -- all incorporated into his Super Move which culminates in him frying Aquaman with his optic blasts.

Black Manta's intro also sees Aquaman telling him that Atlantis is "off limits," to which Manta responds, "So was my father" -- which hints that the game is following the New 52 storyline from Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis in which Arthur Curry accidentally killed the villain's father in a fit of rage. Coincidentally, actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen will be playing Black Manta in James Wan's Aquaman solo film next year.

This new Fighter Pack will also be available to players who purchased the Injustice 2: Ultimate Edition. At least one more pack featuring three new characters is expected to be released.

Developed by NetherRealm for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the sequel to the hit 2013 video game Injustice: Gods Among Us continues the storyline, with Batman and his allies working toward putting the pieces of society back together while struggling against those who want to restore Superman's regime. However, in the midst of that chaos, a new threat appears that will put Earth's existence at risk.
