Ahead of Friday's broadcast premiere, ABC has released a new trailer for Marvel's Inhumans, featuring new footage that provides a look at the Terrigenesis process that activates the characters' genes, and unleashes their superhuman abilities.

While most of the trailer focuses on Maximus' coup against his brother Black Bolt and the Royal Family, we get deeper insight into how the Inhumans come to be, as well as another look at the playful teleporting dog Lockjaw.

The promo shows a two Inhumans undergoing Terrigenesis, deemed "the sacred touchstone of our civilization" by the senior scientists involved, with the Terrigen crystals placed into special containment chambers. One of them emerges from the Terrigen Mists with a pair of butterfly wings.

What's worth noting is that the young Inhumans look a bit uncertain and scared before the process is activated, and that this Terrigenesis differs from the one depicted on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., where potential Inhumans emerged from rock-like cocoon with their full powers.
