He may now star as the silent king Black Bolt on Inhumans, but Anson Mount once had his eye on a very different Marvel Comics superhero.
While speaking with CBR ahead of Inhumans' premiere tonight on ABC, the actor revealed he once wanted to play the much more vocal role of the X-Man Gambit. "I wanted to be Gambit for a really long time, and then Channing Tatum ruined that for me!" Mount said with a laugh. "But I think he’s gonna do a great job."
Tatum has long been attached to star as the mutant Remy LeBeau in Fox's frequently delayed X-Men spinoff Gambit. The actor recently assured that, despite repeated setbacks -- including the loss of two directors -- the film is still in active development.
Following a two-week release in IMAX theaters, Marvel's Inhumans makes its broadcast premiere tonight at 8 ET/PT on ABC. The eight-episode drama stars Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Iwan Rheon as Maximus the Mad, Serinda Swan as Queen Medusa, Ken Leung as Karnak, Isabelle Cornish as Crystal, Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon, Mike Moh as Triton and Sonya Balmores as Auran.
