Marvel has announced its latest string of variant covers for 2015, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Inhumans. Reported by ComicBook.com, the variant theme will begin in January with an "Uncanny Avengers" #1 variant by former "Inhumans" contributor Jose Ladronn, followed by a companion cover by Ladronn on "Guardians of the Galaxy Team-Up" #1 in February, and "Thor" #6 variant by Pasqual Ferry in March. The variants will continue every month throughout 2015.

The Inhumans first appeared in "Fantastic Four" #45 in December 1965, and have been included in the Marvel Universe ever since. The celebration of the Inhumans' 50th anniversary is certainly understandable given their increased visibility in the Marvel Universe in the last few years -- most notably in the "Inhuman" ongoing series written by Charles Soule with art by Ryan Stegman. The announcement of the variant covers is especially relevant given Marvel Studios' announcement of an "Inhumans" film for 2018. Plus, there are the running theories that Inhumans will be introduced on "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."
