Universal Pictures has revealed official details for the 4K release of Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds.

Tarantino's "high-octane WWII revenge fantasy" is arriving on 4K, Blu-ray and Digital for the first time and boasts over two hours of bonus content, with pricing yet to be announced. Its special features include extended and alternate scenes from the movie, as well as a roundtable discussion with Tarantino, star Brad Pitt and film critic Elvis Mitchell, The New York Times Talk, an original short titled Nation's Pride and a video about its making, a featurette titled The Original Inglourious Basterds and a conversation with the late Rod Taylor (who played Winston Churchill in the movie, marking his last film role).

Released in 2009, Inglourious Basterds follows a group of Jewish-American soldiers, led by First Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Pitt), as they venture into Germany and reign terror down upon the Nazis during WWII. Mélanie Laurent also stars as Shosanna Dreyfus, a young French Jewish woman and cinema operator who quietly fights back against the Nazis after her family is killed by the notorious SS colonel Hans "The Jew Hunter" Landa (Christoph Waltz). The film was a critical and financial success, grossing $321.5 million at the box office against a $70 million budget. It also landed eight Oscar nominations, with Waltz winning for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

On a sadder note, Inglourious Basterds was the last film Tarantino's longtime collaborator Sally Menke edited prior to her tragic heat-related death in 2010. Fred Raskin, who served as Menke's editing assistant on the Kill Bill movies, took over as Tarantino's editor for 2012's Django Unchained before reuniting with him on 2015's The Hateful Eight and 2019's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Although Tarantino intends to retire from directing after his next film, he has yet to announce what that movie will be. He considered helming a remake of his first film, 1992's Reservoir Dogs, but insists he's abandoned the idea. However, he has yet to rule out the possibility of directing Kill Bill 3, with Uma Thurman returning as Beatrix Kiddo/The Bride and her real-life daughter, Stranger Things star Maya Ray Thurman Hawke, playing Beatrix's daughter in the sequel.

Inglourious Basterds releases in 4K, Blu-ray and Digital on Oct. 12.
