WARNING: The following article contains potential spoilers for Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War, arriving in theaters May 4.

It turns out there was something to those theories that Thor will receive some help from in crafting his new weapon in Avengers: Infinity War. Newly surfaced images of one of the film's toy tie-ins confirms that Groot contributes a branch for the handle of the hybrid ax-hammer, dubbed Stormbreaker.

It was previously speculated that Thor would wield Jarnbjorn, as he did in the Marvel comic books following a fall from grace, during which he was deemed unworthy to wield Mjolnir. Instead, following the destruction of the enchanter hammer in Thor: Ragnarok, we see the thunder god will carry a weapon similar, in both design and name, to that of Beta Ray Bill, only with a handle made from Groot's arm. In one photo, we can even see a telltale leaf.

That would suggest that after the Guardians of the Galaxy discover Thor lost in space, as seen in the teasers for Infinity War, he'll form a bond with Groot. He'll need all the help he can get if he's to join with his Avengers teammates and their allies to defend Earth against Thanos' quest for cosmic domination and the Infinity Stones. As it turns out, Groot will be more than willing to lend an arm.
