As 2019 draws nearer and the next Avengers film comes ever closer, there's no better time to rewatch Avengers: Infinity War for the second, fifth, or tenth time. After all, the film is epic, compelling, and tells a massive story that has to be seen to be believed. However, the film itself is so huge that there are plenty of small moments and aspects of the movie that might have been lost in the grand battle for the universe. That's why a film like Infinity War begs to be watched multiple times. The little things viewers might have missed are funny, poignant, and sometimes might even affect the plot of future MCU films. There's no saying if they are significant yet, but these small moments could end up meaning bigger things in the future.

We've all been wondering what the future holds for Thanos, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Are there going to be definitive answers gleaned from multiple viewings on Infinity War? Maybe not, but there are things that some fans might pick up on and realize that it really could mean a lot in the future. whether it's Thor's new ability to summon the Bifrost or Red Skull's new freedom from Vormir. The fact of the matter is that Infinity War is the kind of movie that needs to be watched multiple times to try and catch everything, but for fans of the MCU, is that really so bad? These are 20 things to watch out for when watching Infinity War for the tenth time.

20 BUCKY'S ARM DISAPPEARS TOO

When Thanos finally snaps his fingers in the final minutes of Infinity War, it's probably one of the most heart-wrenching moments in the MCU. We had to sit there in the audience and watch all of our favorite heroes fade away into dust. When this happens we see some of them dropping weapons, such as when Bucky drops his gun.

However, why does Bucky's non-biological metal arm also disappear? When it comes to the clothes, we can accept that. After all, it's as if the person has turned to ash, which would also happen to their clothes. However, Bucky's arm is an artificial limb, so by all logic, wouldn't it also fall to the ground when he disappears?

19 THE CLOAK OF LEVITATION MOCKS TONY

Doctor Strange's Cloak of Levitation

One of the most fun parts of Infinity War is when Peter Parker, Tony Stark, and Stephen Strange are all together on the Black Order's ship and they meet the Guardians of the Galaxy. It was the crossover moment fans had been waiting for, and it was marked by a few really great, funny moments of character interaction.

One of the funniest moments and one that might have been lost during a first viewing is when Strange's Cloak of Levitation is floating behind Tony, and imitating his every move. It's a purely Disney moment, reminiscent of the magic carpet from Aladdin. It also was a great way to show the cloak's unique personality.

18 THE RED SKULL IS THE GRIM REAPER

Red Skull at his post on Vormir in Infinity War

It was a huge surprise for everyone to see a villain appear in Infinity War that no one thought they would ever see again: the Red Skull. All the way back in Captain America: The First Avenger, Red Skull disappeared into space after coming into contact with the Tesseract. We'd all been wondering what happened to him since.

Turns out he's guarding the Soul Stone on Vormir. This scene was harrowing for one big reason, that was clearly hinted at by Red Skull's appearance. With his skeletal face and black cloak and hood, he resembles the grim reaper. For anyone who was surprised by what Thanos did on Vormir to get the Soul Stone, this should have been a huge indicator.

17 HE CAN ALSO LEAVE VORMIR

Now that Thanos is in possession of the Soul Stone, that means the Red Skull no longer has to guard it. So what happens to him now? Well, according to directors Joe and Anthony Russo, Red Skull is free to leave Vormir and pursue whatever goals he wants to accomplish. This was confirmed in a tweet on the official Avengers account, signed by the Russo Brothers themselves.

What does this mean for the future of Red Skull? Well, if anything, he could once again become a major threat to Earth. After all, he still possesses his super soldier strength and will to conquer, plus he has knowledge of the outer reaches of the universe and the Infinity Gems.

16 ROCKET AND QUILL'S UNRESOLVED ISSUES

Peter Quill and Rocket during battle in Guardians of the Galaxy

It's no secret that Peter Quill and Rocket have always had a bit of a rocky relationship. They constantly bicker with each other, and even though they can occasionally come together to take down a living planet or a Kree warlord, there still seems to be friction between the two. Unfortunately, that never gets fully resolve in Infinity War.

Quill and Rocket end up going their separate ways, and Quill makes a dig at Rocket, saying the only reason he wants to go to Nidavellir is because that's where Thanos isn't. Quill and Rocket might continue to argue once they're reunited, but for now, Rocket doesn't even know that Quill was one of the people who disappeared.

15 THANOS KNEW STARK BECAUSE OF THE SOUL STONE

Thanos Stark

When Tony, Peter, Doctor Strange, and the Guardians of the Galaxy are facing off against Thanos in Titan, it seems like they are nothing but a slight inconvenience to the Mad Titan. However, there is a moment when Thanos looks at Iron Man, and immediately recognizes who he is. Viewers might have thought that this meant Tony Stark was an important figure, known throughout the universe.

That would make sense, considering how he took down the entire Chitauri fleet when he flew a nuclear device through their portal. However, the explanation is much simpler: Thanos had the Soul Stone and was able to see who Tony really was. As a bonus, Thanos also seemed to think Tony would fade away after the snap, saying he hoped humanity would remember him.

14 WONG HAD TO PROTECT THE SANCTUM

Wong Benedict Wong Avengers Infinity War

During the first real battle of the film, viewers took note of Wong's absence from the conflict. They might have thought that he was turning tail and running, but the fact of the matter is that he had a much more important job to do: guarding the Sanctum. After all, if even one of the Sanctums was to fall, things could get really bad.

This is a callback to the events of Doctor Strange, where the loss of two Sanctums nearly resulted in the destruction of Earth by Dormammu. Wong even lost his life in the struggle before Strange saved him by reversing time. That means he knows the cost of losing even one of the three Sanctums, hence the need to guard it in Strange's absence.

13 THOR IS ABLE TO SUMMON THE BIFROST

Thor Holding Stormbreaker

When Thor lost Mjolnir in Thor: Rgnarok, it was a huge blow to the hero. He had to learn how to use his power without his trusty hammer. He eventually did pull through, regaining his ability to summon lightning, but in Infinity War, that was never going to be enough to take on Thanos.

Luckily, Thor is able to build a new weapon for himself, the ax Stormbreaker. While this weapon is incredibly powerful in a number of ways, its greatest power may be that it grants Thor the ability to summon the Bifrost, something that was previously only able to be accomplished by Heimdall. If only he had aimed for the head, though.

12 PETER PARKER'S SILLY T-SHIRT

When Peter Parker's spider sense goes off, he knows he has to jump into action, even if that means bailing on the school bus that was taking him and his fellow students somewhere (the answer to that might lie in Spider-Man: Far From Home). However, there's a brief moment when Peter is hanging off the side of the bus, that we can see the T-shirt he chose to wear.

The humorous shirt has an image of a bowl of salad and reads "lettuce: the taste of sadness." Viewers might not have caught that one, as the scene goes by pretty quick, but it's a nice reminder that Parker is a high school student, who might want to wear a silly t-shirt that makes people laugh and expresses his sense of humor.

11 MANTIS FELT THE SNAP HAPPEN TOO

Infinity War

When discussions about the snap were happening, a lot of people talked about how Spider-Man reacted to it. They noted that he took longer to fade away due to his advanced healing factor and that he knew it was coming because of his spider-sense. However, they completely missed another character who knew what was happening.

After the snap, Mantis says on Titan "something's happening." Due to her empathic abilities, she was able to sense that something wasn't right on a universal scale (kind of like when Obi-Wan was taken aback by Alderaan being destroyed), just before fading away herself. It's interesting to see how powerful her abilities really are.

10 BRUCE BANNER LOVES THE BLEEDING EDGE ARMOR

When Ebony Maw and Cull Obsidian make their appearance in New York to retrieve the Time Stone, Tony Stark is not going to have it. He shows absolutely no fear and doesn't hesitate to activate his brand new Bleeding Edge armor, which utilizes nanotechnology to be ready to go at a moment's notice.

One thing that viewers might not have caught is the hilarious reaction of Bruce Banner, who is watching the whole thing happen. As a scientist, Bruce would obviously be excited to see the utilization of nanotechnology and how far Tony's armor designs have come. He looks like he just saw the coolest thing in the world happen.

9 TONY'S GLASSES ARE PART OF THE SUIT

iron-man-infinity-war-bleeding-edge

When Tony does whip out the Bleeding Edge armor, he is already wearing a pair of glasses. However, he doesn't have to pull a Clark Kent and throw the glasses aside or anything. He simply removes them and they blend into the rest of the armor. This is a pretty cool little moment that shows how much tech Tony has on him at any given time.

It's also a nice little touch thrown in by the filmmakers to show that the suit is always a part of Tony, even when he isn't using it. The glasses might not be able to fire pulse beams or give Tony any flight capabilities, but they are obviously part of his suit overall, and give the distinct impression that he is always planning to use the suit when he needs to.

8 THE POST-CREDITS TIMELINE IS OFF

In one of the most exciting and anticipation-building post-credits scenes Marvel has done yet, Nick Fury is able to send a message on his pager just before disappearing like half of the universe. When the pager falls on the ground it reveals the Captain Marvel logo, meaning that she could be able to come and help Earth's heroes.

However, the conversation Fury and Maria Hill have in the car appears to be inconsistent with the timing of the movie. They mention a ship landing in Wakanda, then seconds later, people start disappearing. This might have been intentional, or it might have been a mistake on the part of the filmmakers. Either way, it will hopefully be cleared up in Avengers 4.

7 MANTIS PUTS ON HER MEAN FACE

Mantis is like the secret MVP of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Not only is she able to subdue Thanos for a brief period with her powers, but she is also frequently hilarious. One of her brightest moments in Infinity War comes in the background of another shot when she perfectly follows the orders of Peter Quill.

"All right, Guardians, don't forget this might be dangerous, so let's put on our mean faces," Quill tells his crew. Seemingly, the only one to take the order directly is Mantis, who immediately puts on her "mean face." It's an adorable moment, and one that you might have missed if you weren't watching closely.

6 DISASSEMBLED

hawkeye-civil-war

While Thanos might be the most formidable foe that has ever been faced by The Avengers, he had one serious advantage over them: the fact that they were all apart from each other. With Tony and Peter in space with Doctor Strange, Thor on Nidavellir for most of the story, and the rest of the Avengers left to fight in Wakanda without Hawkeye, Ant-Man or the Hulk, they never stood a chance.

This is all because of how things went down in Captain America: Civil War. Even though Tony tries to reach Steve on the phone he carries around with him, this shouldn't have been a problem in the first place. The events of that film fractured the team and sent everyone in different directions, creating a significant weakness in Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

5 VALKYRIE AND HALF OF ASGARD

Valkyrie was the breakout character of Thor: Ragnarok. She proved that she could fight alongside the God of Thunder and his brother, Loki, and she helped them to rescue the Asgardian population. However, the victory was short-lived, as Thanos boarded the ship and took down the Asgardians to get his hands on the Tesseract and the Space Stone within.

This left fans wondering what happened to Valkyrie. Luckily, co-director Joe Russo confirmed that Valkyrie, along with half of the Asgardian population, had already boarded another ship and made their way away from Thanos. There's no word on whether they survived the snap or not, but it's good to know that Valkyrie (and Korg!) could return to the MCU in the future.

4 "WE WILL DEEP FRY YOUR KEBAB"

When we finally got a chance to see where Wanda and Vision ended up, we see that they are together in Scotland, living as happily as they can after the events of Captain America: Civil War. That peace is cut short by the arrival of Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive, but there's still a little bit of time to hang out in Scotland and get one good local joke in for good measure.

While Wanda and Vision are out walking the streets, they pass by a restaurant which has posted a sign reading "we will deep fry your kebab." This is hilarious for two reasons. One, deep frying is a huge thing in Scotland, where restaurants will deep fry just about anything. Two, it's almost a nice little call back to the shawarma mentioned in The Avengers.

3 GROOT IS STILL ALIVE (SORT OF)

infinity war

When all of our favorite heroes started disappearing at the end of Infinity War, it seemed like there was nothing that could possibly make any of us feel better. One of the most heartbreaking moments is when Rocket watches Groot disappear, and appears to be begging for it not to happen. He already lost Groot once, and now he has to lose him again.

Or does he? Even in the event that Groot can't return after everything is (hopefully) set right again in the next Avengers film, there is still a part of him that hasn't disappeared: the piece he gave to Thor in order to create Stormbreaker. All they have to do is grow a new Groot. They'll have to put up with his teenage angst again, but it would be worth it!

2 A THANKS TO JIM STARLIN

Jim Starlin

Infinity War could not have existed in the first place if it wasn't for the work of one dedicated comic book writer and artist named Jim Starlin. Starlin is the man who gave Thanos to the world (thanks for that, Jim!), and he also wrote the famous "Infinity Gauntlet" story that the film is based on.

However, Starlin's relationship with Marvel has always been fraught with controversy. Starlin even went on record saying that he wouldn't work for Marvel anymore. He even had to undergo a legal battle to be compensated for his characters appearing in the MCU. So it feels like a bit of a backhanded compliment to give him a special thanks at the end of Infinity War.

1 THERE MIGHT BE A COPY OF VISION

Vision in Avengers: Infinity War

We saw Thanos take Vision out of the equation when he ripped the mind stone from his head and tossed his gray, lifeless body aside like it was nothing. It was a tough scene to watch, especially having to see Scarlet Witch watch it all happen after she was forced to take Vision's life the first time. Of course, the time stone put the fix on that situation.

However, this may not be the end of Vision. As we saw earlier in the film, when the forces of the Black Order are at Wakanda's gates, Shuri is quickly working on extracting the mind stone from Vision. Even though she does not succeed, Shuri is incredibly smart and may have made a backup of Vision's consciousness during the procedure.
