WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War, in theaters now.

Although directors Joe and Anthony Russo assembled a veritable who's who of Marvel Cinematic Universe favorites for Avengers: Infinity War, many fans were left wondering about the whereabouts of Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie. Luckily, the Thor: Ragnarok star was on hand to jokingly point out her "cameo" in the blockbuster.

Infinity War opened with the devastation aboard the Asgaardian refugee ship, moments after Ragnarok's mid-credits scene. Idris Elba's Heimdall and Tom Hiddleston's Loki were among the fallen in the confrontation with Thanos and his Black Order, but Valkyrie's fate is left a mystery.

On Twitter, Thompson answered the question on everyone's lips with a Photoshopped image of Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes holding a goat in Wakanda. Although she wasn't part of the superhero ensemble, at least the Thor: Ragnarok star can see humor in her absence from Infinity War.

For those who might not know, Thompson is now somewhat fixated on goats because of a strange crossover Twitter account @tessasgoats. Dedicated to photos that compare the actress to different goats, the account posts daily pictures of Thompson. It's clearly a tongue-in-cheek response from Thompson, and follows a tweet in which she joked Valkyrie was alongside Hawkeye — chugging drinks at a bar. Either way, it doesn't sound like the Valkyrie issue is going anywhere just yet.

Given that Valkyrie was last seen alongside Thor, Loki and Hulk at the end of Ragnarok, it's not unreasonable for fans to have expected her to be part of the Infinity War opening.

Thanos' mission has always been to wipe out half of life in the universe, which means that half of the Asgardians were likely spared. The most popular theory at the moment is that Valkyrie took the survivors to safety, and could return in Avengers 4 to help the remaining heroes.

Fans already know Valkyrie will play some part in the future of the MCU, so the Russo brothers must have plans for Thompson's feisty scrapper. Whatever happened to Valkyrie, the mystery will hopefully be cleared up next year. But in the meantime, Tessa and her fans will have to go back to looking at pictures of goats.
