Over the past decade, we've seen Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark suit up in a number of sophisticated sets of armor, each with more bells and whistles than the last, and it appears that trend will continue in Avengers: Infinity War.

In one of 15 new covers revealed by Entertainment Weekly, we see a helmetless Iron Man sporting his new Bleeding Edge armor, which was first revealed in last month's Super Bowl TV spot. According to the description, "Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark will fire up the Bleeding Edge armor, which emerges across his body from a new arc reactor and includes 'wings' on the back and arms that serve as rocket boosters into deep space."

The Bleeding Edge armor first appeared in Invincible Iron Man #25, by Matt Fraction and Salvador Larroca. At the time, it was the most advanced armor Tony Stark had ever designed. Its main feature was that the armor was made up entirely of nanites, and almost appeared to be liquid, flowing out from Tony’s own body to wrap him in an Iron Man shell, and even other weapons if need be. This meant that Tony didn’t need to carry the armor around in a briefcase and other such contraptions — instead, it was truly a part of him.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L.
