A mortgage commercial has given fans their first look at Tony Stark's new repulsors from Avengers: Infinity War.
The promo, which is actually an cross-promotional spot for Rocket Mortgage, features Iron Man, Doctor Strange and Bruce Banner battling Thanos' forces in New York City. During the conflict, Iron Man uses his new repulsors to destroy a bus bench flying toward a woman wearing headphones. The technology looks similar to Shuri's repulsors in Black Panther.
The new weapons appear to be part of Tony Stark's bleeding edge armor, which first appeared in Marvel Comics' Invincible Iron Man#25, by Matt Fraction and Salvador Larroca. At the time, it was the most advanced armor Stark had ever designed. Its main feature was that the armor was composed entirely of nanites, and almost appeared to be liquid, flowing out from Stark's body to wrap him in an Iron Man shell, and even other weapons, if need be. That meant Stark didn’t need to carry the armor around in a briefcase; instead, it was truly a part of him.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Tom Hiddleston and Josh Brolin, among others. The film hits theaters April 27.
