As Avengers: Infinity War looms ever closer, fans have become increasingly worried by the absence of Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye from the marketing for Marvel's ensemble film, leading to speculation how much of a role he'll actually play.

However, directors Joe and Anthony Russo assure fans that Clint Barton does indeed have a part to play in the upcoming movie.

"We keep saying, 'Patience is a virtue,'" Joe Russo told Joe.ie. "We did not forget the twice-nominated Jeremy Renner. We cooked up a story for him that is a little bit of a long play. Not a short play."

This statement echoes comments made earlier this month by Anthony Russo, when he insisted, "All will be explained when people see the movie. It’s all tied into the story."
