Chris Hemsworth has been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for seven years, but that didn't stop him from feeling nervous about some of his scenes in Avengers: Infinity War. At a press conference attended by CBR, Hemsworth -- who plays Thor -- recalled what it was like to film with the Guardians of the Galaxy and why they gave him "butterflies."
"The first day was what you've seen in the trailers, it was Thor meeting the Guardians. It felt like kind of first day at school for me. They all knew each other, and I didn't, so I was the new kid. They had all been shooting, and I hadn't. I had some weird sort of nervous butterflies floating around my body," he said with a laugh. "But I squeezed them out of me -- Chris Pratt gave me a big hug and all the butterflies floated out of my ears. This whole film for me, I felt like a fan; meeting a lot of these people, and the characters I had watched on screen and admired. To be on screen with them, as Thor, but as Chris also, was pretty damn exciting."
Since the Guardians of the Galaxy debuted in their self-titled film in 2014, they have remained relatively separate from the rest of the MCU. In Infinity War, the Guardians will meet the Avengers for the first time, starting with the one and only God of Thunder.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Tom Hiddleston, and Josh Brolin. The film arrives April 27.
