The Sorcerer Supreme will need the assistance of Iron Man if Earth is going to make it through Avengers: Infinity War in one piece.
With the eagerly anticipated Marvel Studios film opening Thursday worldwide, the latest TV spot depicts Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange appearing in Central Park to enlist Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark to confront the looming threat of Thanos.
While previous promos revealed the man of science working with the Master of Mystic Arts in the latter's Sanctum Sanctorum, navigating the streets of New York City, and on Thanos' home world of Titan, this sequence presumably marks the duo's formal introduction. While this is the first time Tony has crossed paths with Stephen Strange, it's not the first time Strange has interacted with an Avenger, having assisted Thor in last year's Thor: Ragnarok.
The new TV spot also provides the first official glimpse of Gwyneth Paltrow's Pepper Potts in Infinity War, alongside her fiancé when Strange comes calling.
The footage also fuels speculation that Loki may be in store for a grim fate in the Avengers sequel, with a look at Thor lamenting his recent losses.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Tom Hiddleston, and Josh Brolin. The film arrives Thursday worldwide.
