When a Reddit community devoted to Thanos bans half of its members today, there's a good chance Joe and Anthony Russo will be snuffed out of existence -- virtually, that is.

The directors of Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War have, in their own words, "submitted to the culling" in the Thanos Did Nothing Wrong subreddit that will result in the simultaneous (and random) banning of more than 300,000 members, the largest in Reddit history. It's a tribute to the actions of the Mad Titan who, in the Marvel Studios blockbuster, wipes out half all lifeforms with a snap of his fingers, in an effort to restore balance to the universe.

Of course, as a redditor noted, for perfect balance to be achieved, only one Russo brother should be banned.

Members of the subreddit are gleefully awaiting the purge, as a glance at the "Preban Megathread" demonstrates. In fact, membership has ballooned from 20,000 subscribers when the plan was proposed, to now north of 530,000, with more pouring in under the deadline.

In addition to the participation, and endorsement, by the Russo brothers, the impending ban received a hand -- or, rather, a finger snap -- from Thanos actor Josh Brolin, who recorded a video, uploaded to the site by Joe Russo.

Still in theaters, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Tom Hiddleston, Peter Dinklage and Josh Brolin.
