The Russo brothers have confirmed the fate the Asgardians suffered at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.Avengers: Infinity War opened with Thanos and his generals attacking the few Asgardians who survived the events of Thor: Ragnarok. The directors revealed that Thanos, following this initial attack, allowed Valkyrie to escape alongside half of the souls on the ship before destroying the rest.During a Q&A following a screening of Avengers: Infinity War, the directors were asked about the status of those Asgardians, and if they were also affected when Thanos used the Infinity Gauntlet to erase half of the universe's population.RELATED: Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Delay Didn't Affect Avengers 4As reported by Dorian Parks of GeeksOfColor, the Russo Brothers did not mince words about the Asgardians' fate. When asked if the group received a reprieve following their recent encounter with Thanos, the Russos bluntly answered, “Nope. Half of them die again.”

Since the premiere of Avengers: Infinity War, it has been confirmed that Valkyrie was not among the casualties of the snap, but it seems the rest of the Asgardians weren't as lucky. We’ll learn more about their eventual fate in the as-yet untitled Avengers 4, which is scheduled to premiere May 3, 2019.
