In a recent Reddit AMA with Infinity Train creator Owen Dennis (Regular Show) and Supervising Director Maddie Queripel, the two revealed that there are rough plans for eight more installments in the animated anthology series.

They were specifically asked by Redditor "Higtuber" if there were any ideas for future protagonists in upcoming seasons. "Yes!” they responded. "We have a total of eight story ideas."

In an interview with i09, Dennis confirmed that they’d like to continue the show for at least five more seasons. "We have rough ideas for themes and which characters we’d like to follow for five more seasons, up to season eight. Feels like '8' is a good place to stop because it looks like an infinity symbol," he said.

Infinity Train first premiered on Cartoon Network as a 10-episode, self-contained miniseries. The first season aired in January 2020, and was meant to be the first installment of an anthology series -- it’s one of the more unique shows to come out of Cartoon Network since Adventure Time or Steven Universe.

Set on a train with an infinite number of cars, each with its own unique adventure (think of the film Snowpiercer or, more literary, Alice Notley’s The Descent of Allette), the first season features 13-year-old Tulip as the main protagonist, an aspiring game designer. She is joined by her two companions, a robot named One-One and Atticus, the king of corgis.

Infinity Train recently made the move to HBO Max for Season 3. In a recent tweet by Dennis, he explained that there could be more installments of the show, but it hinges entirely on the traction Infinity Train receives on HBO Max.

"We can make more, *IF* we get the views. Right now, our whole crew was laid off ad they all got new jobs," he said. "They wanna make more, I’d like to make more, so we have to watch the show and get other people (especially teens and young adults) to watch the show on HBO Max."

The first three seasons of Infinity Train are available on HBO Max and Cartoon Network.
