Infinite Frontier has introduced a new Suicide Squad to the DC Universe, with Peacemaker serving as the team's latest field commander, coordinating with Amanda Waller to carry out her agenda through the DCU. The relaunched team's first mission appears simple enough: Break into Arkham Asylum and free the Court of Owls' most lethal Talon William Cobb so he can become Task Force X's latest recruit as hinted at during Future State. However, this mission quickly goes awry and casualties begin to mount, reminding everyone why Task Force X has earned the dubious nickname the Suicide Squad.

Here are all three members of the Infinite Frontier Suicide Squad killed on their inaugural mission to free William Cobb from Arkham Asylum and how each of these shady figures met their grisly fate inside the Asylum's halls.

Bolt

Bolt Suicide Squad

The mission to break out Cobb was intended to a simple smash and grab job, with the Suicide Squad using Bolt's teleportation abilities to exfiltrate from Arkham after freeing the asset from his cell. This is complicated when Cobb immediately reacts to his newfound freedom by slashing Bolt's throat as the rest of Task Force X watches horrified and realizes that they have to develop to a new escape plan as their presence is detected by the guards.

Bolt was created by Sean McKeever and Eddy Barrows in 2008's Teen Titans #55 (vol. 3) as a member of the young heroes' rival team the Terror Titans. Originally taking on the supervillain moniker Dreadbolt, the young antagonist takes on his father's alter ego Bolt after murdering him under orders from the Clock King.

Film Freak

True to form, Film Freak is the most vocal of the members of the new Suicide Squad, constantly quoting classic movies despite the obvious annoyance expressed by the rest of his team. Created by Will Pfeifer and David Lopez in 2006's Catwoman #54 (vol. 3), Edison is actually the second criminal to take on the moniker Film Freak after starting a vendetta against Selina Kyle's best friend Holly Robinson.

In the confusion of the attempted breakout, the Joker launches a chemical attack on Arkham. As the toxin swirls around the cells, Film Freak weakly provides one last movie quote before he succumbs to the effects of the poison, presumably dying with the Joker's signature rictus grin within the halls of Arkham.

Shrike

Shrike

The last member of the Infinite Frontier Suicide Squad to apparently die in the opening issue is Shrike, a master assassin who has a long-running grudge against Nightwing. Created by Chuck Dixon and Scott McDaniel in 1999's Nightwing: Secret Files & Origins #1, Boone was trained since youth by members of the League of Assassins to become the next lethal protege to follow in their footsteps before taking on Dick Grayson in Bludhaven, after the former Boy Wonder became one of the first figures to elude an assassination contract.

As Cobb runs from the Suicide Squad after lashing out at them and the unleashed Joker toxin begins to spread, Peacemaker prioritizes pursuing him rather than saving Shrike from the poisonous gasses, leaving the assassin behind to die as Shrike curses Peacemaker before he is sealed inside of the room with the toxin swirling around him, presumably killed by it.
