WARNING: The following contains spoilers for the story "Green Arrow & Black Canary" from Infinite Frontier #0 by Joshua Williamson, Alex Maleev, and Jordie Bellaire, on sale now

The DC Universe has lost plenty of heroes over the years, but it's rare that those casualties come at the hands of their fellow heroes. One major death from recent history was just fixed as the DC Universe repairs itself in Infinite Frontier, righting at least one major wrongful death.

Roy Harper has been seemingly revived from his earlier death as a result of his role in Dark Nights: Death Metal. But after Infinite Frontier #0, it's not clear what's next for the former Red Arrow.

Since first becoming a hero as Green Arrow's sidekick Speedy, Roy Harper has had a particularly difficult life. His time as a superhero saw him battle drug addiction and experience a falling out with his mentor multiple times. Things reached a peak in Heroes in Crisis, while Roy was spending time at the superhero rehabilitation facility Sanctuary. An outburst from his friend and former teammate Wally West resulted in Roy's demise, and he was mourned by his friends and family. Roy got one more chance to fight for the world during Dark Nights: Death Metal when he was among the fallen heroes restored to life by a Black Lantern ring wielded by Batman. Roy fought alongside his fellow Titans and even Wally, with the pair finding a brief place of comradery again on the battlefield.

In the aftermath of Dark Nights: Death Metal, it initially appears that most if not all of the people restored by Bruce for the final battle ended up returning to the graves afterward, including Alfred. But it turns out at least Roy was spared this fate, although it's not clear how. Infinite Frontier #0 reveals the new status quo for multiple heroes, including Roy. As lost memories return to the heroes of the DC Universe, Oliver Queen and Dinah Lance find themselves fully throwing themselves back into their romance. Ollie ends up getting a call from an old Q-Phone, but the caller decides it's too soon to reach out to Ollie and hangs up. It turns out to be Roy, revived from the dead, looking to reconnect with Oliver but deciding that he's not ready to go through it yet.

Roy next considers calling some of his best friends from across the superhero community, including his fellow founding Teen Titans Dick Grayson and Donna Troy, as well as his former teammate on the Outlaws, Jason Todd. But Roy also admits out loud that he has no idea how or why he's been allowed to remain in the world -- and he isn't ready to bring up those connections yet. As he hitchhikes his way across an empty desert highway, Roy also notices a red bow and set of arrows, noting the seeming cosmic awareness of who he is and why he's back. His smile at the bow and arrows suggests that Roy might be taking up similar weapons again soon.

It's an exciting development for Roy and all of his closest allies, as his revival could allow him to find a new place within the post-Death Metal DC Universe. Roy's sudden death was one of the biggest repercussions of Heroes in Crisis, and his revival could help soothe any lingering conflicts between Wally and the Titans. Roy has plenty of options on where he can go too, possibly teaming back up with Green Arrow or potentially reuniting with his fellow former sidekicks at the newly opened Titans Academy. Now that he's been brought back to life, Roy could arguably come back into the greater DC Universe with something of a fresh slate, moving beyond the drama that has plagued most of his time in costume.
