Psycho Pirate now sits at the right side of Darkseid, and a preview for the next issue of Infinite Frontier sees him in search of more servants for his master.
Roger Hayden's legacy version of the Psycho Pirate is the character that DC Comics always dusts off when they need someone to be featured in a crisis-level event. Since his first appearance in Showcase #56 facing off against Doctor Fate and Hourman, that is the role he has primarily served, which has, in turn, cursed him with the knowledge of every iteration of the multiverse. It is this knowledge and understanding that Psycho Pirate will use to try and coax other heroes and villains from across the multiverse to join Darkseid like he did.
In the preview for Infinite Frontier #5, Psycho Pirate reveals more about his philosophy regarding the multiverse. In Infinite Frontier: Secret Files, Hayden discussed how he, the man who controls the emotions of others, had become apathetic to the dealings of the multiverse since only he could remember it and know that nothing matters, even breaking the bounds of the comic book page. To him, the multiverse was never saved after each crisis, and instead each version was simply replaced with a new one while worlds that only he could remember were lost and destroyed forever.
Thus, he poses the question to villains across the multiverse over whether they want to be on the next world to be destroyed and forgotten, as if it had never existed in the first place. According to him, his original Earth no longer exists. His version of Earth-2, where he first became Psycho Pirate after Charles Halstead taught him the secrets of the Medusa Mask, was destroyed after Crisis on Infinite Earths, and any Earth-2 that exists in the present continuity is not his own.
The preview sees Psycho Pirate promise his potential recruits from across the multiverse that if they join Darkseid, they will be spared from his curse. Their worlds will be ensured to always exist and be protected from Earth-0, the world that always survives each and every crisis. The preview for Infinite Frontier #5 can be found below.
