Marvel Comics has released an official set of unlettered preview pages for the first issue of Inferno, the climactic, four-part conclusion to writer Jonathan Hickman's X-Men run.
The limited series, set to launch at the end of this month, follows Mystique on her quest to burn Krakoa down. In the official preview for Inferno #1, a member of the Quiet Council other than Professor X takes control of Cerebro -- more specifically, Emma Frost, aka the White Queen.
The full official synopsis for Inferno #1 reads as follows:
THE CULMINATION OF JONATHAN HICKMAN’S X-MEN BEGINS HERE! “There will be an island—not the first, but the last…” Promises were made and broken. The rulers of Krakoa have been playing a dangerous game with a dangerous woman, and they are about to see how badly that can burn them. Written by Jonathan Hickman and illustrated by Valerio Schiti, Inferno #1 goes on sale Sept. 29 from Marvel Comics.
