Although there has never been an animated version of "Indiana Jones," one fan has made a trailer that just might be good enough to make the series a reality.

The trailer, which features Indy and fan favorite characters like Short Round, Marion Ravenwood and Marcus Brody in scenes from the famous films, was posted to YouTube on Sept. 29 and has since gained over 5,000 views.

Animator Patrick Schoenmaker, who has worked with Lucasfilm, Acme Archives and Sesame Street, spent five years on the project, which, according to YouTube, would serve as the opening sequence of a potential animated series called "The Adventures of Indiana Jones."

If the animated series doesn't actually make its way to screens, Indy can next be seen in the fifth installment of the "Indiana Jones" series, starring Harrison Ford and directed by Steven Speilberg. It is set to be released on July 19, 2019.
