"Incredibles 2" is becoming more of a reality, as the release date has recently been moved ahead to Summer 2018. Now, Samuel L. Jackson is teasing the start of his voice-recording sessions for the animated sequel.
Jackson, who plays Frozone in the film, posted the following earlier today:
Writer-producer Brad Bird previously said of the “Incredibles” sequel, “It’s very actively moving, and we’re excited about it…[We’re] trying to take it in some new directions,” noting, “Hopefully it’s the same characters and feel, but going in a new direction…I mean, that’s the trick with a sequel. It’s repeating yourself, without repeating yourself.”
The film was originally set to open in the same year as “Captain Marvel,” “Shazam,” the “Justice League” sequel, and the fourth “Avengers” movie, but it will now release the same summer as genre heavyweights “Avengers: Infinity War,” the Han Solo “Star Wars” anthology film, “Ant-Man & The Wasp,” “Aquaman” and “Alita: Battle Angel.”
Directed by Bird, “The Incredibles 2” is a sequel to the critically-acclaimed 2004 superhero film, which grossed $633 million globally and $70.4 million domestically. The film was, at the time, had the second-highest opening for an animated movie.
"The Incredibles 2" hits theaters on June 15, 2018.
