The lives of the Parr family are turned upside-down in the new trailer for Pixar's Incredibles 2, which lays out why Elastgirl has returned to costumed action while Mr. Incredible is left at home. Temporarily, it seems.

Helen Parr's new job, which is intended to change public perceptions of superheroes, results in her family living a new lifestyle that's complicated by Violet's adolescence, Jack-Jack's emerging powers, Bob's parenting skills and, ultimately, the machinations of the villainous Underminer. "You know it's crazy, right?" Helen (Holly Hunter) says. "To help my family, I gotta leave it, to fix the law, I gotta break it?"

It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone must find a way to work together again — which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.

Arriving June 15, Pixar's Incredibles 2 is written and directed by Brad Bird. The film stars Craig T. Nelson as Mr. Incredible, Holly Hunter as Elastigirl, Sarah Vowell as Violet Parr, Huck Milner as Dashiell “Dash” Robert Parr, Samuel L. Jackson as Frozone, Brad Bird as Edna Mode, and John Ratzenberger as The Underminer.
