SPOILER WARNING: Major spoilers ahead for Disney/Pixar’s The Incredibles 2, in theaters now.

Baby Jack-Jack is probably the cutest character in both The Incredibles and Incredibles 2, but could it be that he’s also one of the most powerful characters? Though Incredibles 2 has released 14 years after its predecessor, John “Jack-Jack” Jackson Parr is still an infant since the sequel's story takes place just after the first movie’s ending. But baby or not, the kid’s got some powers!

In The Incredibles and the short “Jack-Jack Attack,” we only saw a small sample of Jack-Jack’s abilities. Incredibles 2, on the other hand, revealed much more, including him getting an updated super suit. Below, we give you a complete breakdown of Jack-Jack’s many powers!

The Incredibles

Jack-Jack is a happy blubbering baby for the entire duration of the first Incredibles movie. That is, until someone tries to kidnap him. When Syndrome tries to take Jack-Jack away from his family, one of Jack-Jack’s powers emerges – he’s a shapeshifter!

Jack-Jack, in a brief tussle with Syndrome, is able to alter his skin so it self-combusts (we can see his body through the flames, so we’re assuming it’s just his skin). He also turns himself into metal so heavy that Syndrome nearly drops him. Jack-Jack’s ability lets him take on many forms, including a devil creature. Where he got the inspiration for that form we’ll never know, but it’s pretty scary even though it’s baby-sized.

Prior to Syndrome’s attempted kidnapping, Violet and Dash called for a babysitter for Jack-Jack before leaving to help their mom find their dad. The unfortunate babysitter, Kari, left frantic voicemails for Helen because Jack-Jack started exhibiting powers, which we saw in the short “Jack-Jack Attack.”

Kari puts on classical music for Jack-Jack’s “cognitive development,” but Jack-Jack has a better idea – teleportation hide and seek! He teleports himself throughout the house, and he decides his snack will be best enjoyed while levitating to the ceiling. Poor Kari also has to contend with Jack-Jack phasing through the walls of the house and shooting laser beams out of his eyes. Whatever she was paid, it probably wasn’t enough!

Now, Incredibles 2 gave us the best one-word answer for how to describe Jack-Jack’s powers: He’s a polymorph, his powers emerge based on his emotions and whims. Edna Mode, who’s always the most stylish and sharpest person in a room, explains that baby supers have “pure unlimited potential.” And as she explains this, Jack-Jack reveals another of his powers; he can shift his features to make him look like whoever he wants (in this case, a baby Edna). After babysitting him for a night, Edna creates a new suit and tracker for Jack-Jack, giving the super-child an outfit that will help anticipate his needs.

The tracker Edna makes helps when Jack-Jack disappears, which is actually him traveling through another dimension. All those trailer clips we saw of an exhausted Bob using cookies to get Jack-Jack to appear are in response to Jack-Jack’s interdimensional travel. It’s hard enough to keep track of a baby in this dimension, much less one who can travel across several at will.

Jack-Jack eventually picks a fight with a raccoon, giving us a sequence where more of his powers show themselves. Jack-Jack can multiply his form, turning himself into 5-6 babies. When he sneezes, he can propel himself through the air like a rocket. Other powers we’re pretty sure he has, though they aren't blatantly displayed, are some form of telekinesis and the ability to create lightning.

In the final battle of Incredibles 2, Jack-Jack unleashes another big power -- and we do mean big. He can enlarge himself to the point where he resembles a parade float. Violet and Dash had a handful of problems to deal with during that final battle, and one of them was chasing their baby brother around since he kept phasing through the walls.

Funnily enough, the last person to find out that Jack-Jack has powers is his mom, Elastigirl. Thankfully, we got to experience all of Jack-Jack’s powers being unveiled through two feature films and a short. We wouldn’t have wanted to miss the family using Jack-Jack as a personal laser cannon! (Yes, that happened, too.) Here’s to the cutest and most powerful Parr family member!

Written and directed once again by Brad Bird, Incredibles 2 stars Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson, Sophia Bush, Bob Odenkirk, Catherine Keener, Jonathan Banks, Sarah Vowell, Isabella Rossellini and Brad Bird. The film opens Friday nationwide.
