A cosplayer brought Arcane protagonist and League of Legends champion Vi to life in a stunning amount of detail, including functional Atlas Gauntlets.

Images of the cosplay were shared on Reddit by Sarah Sharif (u/Sazura_of), along with photos detailing the creation of the gauntlets. According to the cosplayer, Sharif, the fingers actually move and there are lights and smoke machines built directly into the gauntlets. While all the panel decor and load-bearing structures were made using PVC sheet plastic, the cosplayer explained that she used 3D printing to create the finger pads.

Based on the extensive lore of League of Legends, the popular free-to-play online multiplayer battle arena video game by Riot Games that initially launched in 2009, Arcane is an action-adventure/fantasy series created by Alex Yee and Christian Linke. It premiered on Netflix in November 2021 and the second season is expected to debut sometime after 2022. The series delves deep into the complicated past and relationship between sisters Vi and Jinx/Powder. Critics highly praised many aspects of Arcane, including its worldbuilding, characters, visuals and nuanced storytelling.

Netflix released a new series titled Arcane: Bridging the Rift, which explores how the expansive lore of League of Legends was adapted into the critically acclaimed animated series. Arcane co-creator and League of Legends creative director Christian Linke recently explained why Riot Games. Inc went with the animation studio Fortiche to create the show's unique and inspiring style. "They just always had this x-factor, all these beautiful visuals, it just kind of really clicked," Linke said.

Arcane has also resonated deeply with viewers, making it a popular inspiration for fan-made content. Beyond Sarura_of's epic Vi cosplay, professional cosplayer Eleanor Barnes created an astonishingly accurate Jinx costume, which included the character's blue cloud tattoos. Arcane has also spawned a wealth of fan theories with several speculating that Vander, Jinx and Vi's adopted father who seemingly dies early on in the story, may return as none other than League of Legends's lupine champion Warwick.

League of Legends itself also has a passionate fan following and the game has inspired many cosplays of its own. Notably, professional cosplayer Bella brought Spirit Blossom Ahri and her Orb of Deception to life using a blend of real-life fabrication and Photoshop. Apart from cosplay, Riot Games recently introduced a new character to League of Legends, a marksman named Nilah, who was brought into the game with the release of patch 12.13 on July 13.

League of Legends is playable on PC and the first season of Arcane is available to stream on Netflix.
