DC's solicitations for August include a listing for a mammoth 768-page Impulse omnibus, igniting speculation the fan-favorite Bart Allen is poised to make his Rebirth debut.

Impulse By Mark Waid and Humberto Ramos Omnibus collects the first 27 pages of the young hero's solo title, as well as The Flash #108-111, and a story from Secret Origins 80-Page Giant #1. That in itself may not be enough for speculation, but the hardcover will arrive hot on the heels of DC's "Flash War" event, which has dropped hints to the return of Impulse.

Debuting in 1994, Bart Allen is an impulsive 30th-century descendant of Barry Allen and Iris West, who, after traveling back in time to the 20th century, became the sidekick of Wally West, aka The Flash. Adopting the costumed identity of Impulse, he was a member of both Young Justice and Teen Titans, and eventually assumed the moniker of Kid Flash.

A future version of Bart appears in the "Super Sons of Tomorrow" storyline, but the character has otherwise been absent since DC's Rebirth relaunch, except for the shattered Impulse toy seen in The Flash Annual #1.
