Immortals Fenyx Rising takes players on an epic adventure through a world based on Greek mythology. On the Golden Isle, Fenyx is tasked with restoring the gods and saving the world from the titan Typhon. Along the way, they will face a variety of challenges that include combat and puzzle solving, earning new powers and skills for their effort.

While much of Immortals' gameplay will be familiar to gamers who have played similar titles, there are still plenty of things that set the Golden Isle apart, providing unique and engaging challenges throughout this vibrant world. Here are some tips, tricks and strategies to help new players get started.

Upgrade Your Skills and Stats

Fenyx can obtain various collectable throughout the game by exploring the world and solving puzzles. By taking these to the Hall of the Gods, you'll be able to upgrade Fenyx's health and stamina, as well as obtain new skills and Godly Powers that make combat and traversal easier. While spending Coins of Charon on upgrades to your weapons that provide new combos and help you deal more damage may seem like the best option early on, there are several quality-of-life upgrades that make traveling across the Golden Isle and solving puzzles way more efficient.

In particular, Precision Control (which lets you control the speed of Apollo's Arrows) is incredibly useful since using them is essential for solving many of the game's puzzles. You'll also want to invest in upgrades like the Climb Leap and Glide Dash that make exploration way more efficient.

Use Your Potions

As you travel across the Golden Isle, you'll find Pomegranates, Blue Mushrooms, Olympian Figs and Flower Nectar to collect. Bringing them to Cauldrons of Circe located throughout the world and in the Hall of the Gods will allow you to turn them into potions that either restore health or stamina or provide boosts to your attack or defense. These are easy to consume, as each corresponds to a button on the D-Pad (or the first four number keys on a keyboard). You can also spend Golden Amber at the Cauldrons to upgrade your potions.

Additionally, you can also consume Pomegranates and Blue Mushrooms to gain small amounts of health or stamina by holding down their respective buttons. While doing so won't restore much, it can be useful if, for example, you just need a bit more stamina to get to the next ledge, but you don't want to waste a potion on it.

You've Got Options

Recent Ubisoft games have included a variety of accessibility options, and Immortals Fenyx Rising is no exception in this regard. Before the game even starts, it gives you the chance to select the difficulty, customize your controls (including changing how specific abilities work) and turn on or off puzzle assistance and game reminders. All of these can be changed at any time, so if you find yourself struggling with combat or you're stuck on a specific puzzle, you can adjust these as needed.

Conversely, if you're finding the game too easy, you can increase the difficulty or turn any assists off. There are five difficulty modes: Story, Easy, Normal, Hard and Nightmare. However, you'll need to complete the game to unlock Nightmare mode.

Take in the View

While wandering the Golden Isle and coming across points of interest naturally can be fun, if you're looking for a specific collectable or just want to see what else is out there, you can use your Far Sight by holding down the right stick (or pressing V if you're using a keyboard). From there, you can look around and reveal Vaults, Ambrosia and various challenges. While this can be activated at any time, it's most useful while up high.

Make Your Own Fenyx

While Fenyx has mainly been marketed as an olive-skinned, red-headed female hero, players can actually customize how the character looks and sounds at the beginning of the game and by visiting Aphrodite's Beauty Chair in the Hall of the Gods. However, this isn't the only way you can make Fenyx your own.

Opening up chests found in the overworld and Vaults and completing different quests and challenges will earn you new armor and weapon options, as well as different versions of Fenyx's bird companion, Phosphor. Each comes with their own perks, including additional stamina, increased defense while health is full and bonuses to your combo meter if you hit an enemy in mid-air. Choose the set of armor or weapon that suits your playstyle.

However, if you don't like the way the armor that works best for you mechanically looks, don't worry. The game allows you to unlock and equip different visual customizations and toggle whether Fenyx wears a helmet or not in the overworld.
