WARNING: The following contains spoilers for The Immortal Hulk: King in Black #1 by Al Ewing, Aaron Kuder, Frank Martin, Erick Arciniega and VC's Cory Petit, on sale now.

Although the 2003 Hulk movie that inspired them isn't terribly well remembered, Hulk Hands have become some of the most popular superhero toys of the century.  Giving users a chance to partially become the Hulk,  Hulk Hands have been hugely successful since they were released. And now, the Hulk has finally experienced these over-sized gloves for himself.

The Jade Giant donned this pair of Hulk Hands in Immortal Hulk: King in Black #1. This issue follows the Hulk wandering the streets of New York on Christmas Eve. Although the Green Goliath isn't looking for trouble, trouble finds him in the form of Knull's symbiote dragons. On this snowy Christmas Eve, these creatures pursue the Hulk throughout the city. To make matters worse, the Devil Hulk was seemingly killed by the Leader, while the villain also dragged Bruce Banner out of his own mindscape. As a result, only the Savage Hulk, who has been severely depleted of gamma radiation, and Joe Fixit, remain in Banner's body.

After defeating one of Knull's symbiotes, the Savage Hulk stumbles upon a toy store. Initially, this fills the Hulk with joy, until memories of his abusive father emerge. The Jolly Green Giant becomes so upset that he reverts back to Banner's body, giving Joe control. Immediately after this transformation, the symbiote arrives to attack the Hulk. Joe tries to change back into the Savage Hulk, but the Jade Giant won't reemerge. During Joe's attempted transformation, his hands become green and swell up, before returning to their normal size. In this moment, Joe's hands very much resemble a pair of Hulk Hands.

Hulk Hands were produced by Toy Biz to promote the 2003 Hulk film. These massive gauntlets were similar to boxing gloves, only colored green and designed to resemble the Green Goliath's hands. Whenever someone would hit the hands, sound effects were emitted, such as smashing noises or even the Hulk's roar. The Hulk Hands sold considerably well, leading Toy Biz to rebrand and reproduce the gloves under a generic "Incredible Hulk" logo.

Later on, Hasbro produced variations of The Hulk Hands for MCU movies such as The Incredible HulkThe Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron. These new versions were labeled "gamma green smash fists" and "Hulk gamma grip fists." Of course, the different hands differ based on size and color, and the "gamma grip fists" even have the option of opening and closing their palms.

It's rather fitting that Hulk Hands appear in Immortal Hulk: King in Black, since the issue ends in a toy store. Hulk Hands are some of the best-selling superhero toys, fitting in perfectly among the other toys. While The Savage Hulk gets to enjoy Christmas Eve with some of his favorite toys, Joe Fixit also receives a great gift.

When Joe's hands turn big and green, he essentially wears a pair of Hulk Hands, if only for a moment. Moreover, these are real Hulk Hands, allowing Joe to feel the power of being the Hulk again. Joe has frequently expressed his desire to regain his previous form as the Gray Hulk, so this small, brief moment is a nice gift for him.

While it didn't happen conventionally, the Hulk got a pair of Hulk Hands, just in time for Christmas.
