Image Comics has provided CBR with an exclusive preview of Two Moons #1, by John Arcudi and Valerio Giandiordano.

"There’s so much going on Two Moons that I feel it doesn’t squarely fit into one genre," Arcudi said. "There are elements of horror, and western themes, and Native American shamanism, and the Civil War going on. It’s got a lot of handles for readers to grab onto, so to speak, plus I think Valerio and I have put together a great story (that being the most important “genre” if you ask me). Also, visually, it’s an absolutely stunning book."

Two Moons is a story of real monsters and supernatural monsters, a story of real war, and internal war," Giangiordano added. "What I mean is that it has multiple interpretations and when I read the script I immediately loved it and I thought: "I have to draw it!" And so here we are."

Two Moons centers on Two Moons/Virgil Morris, a Native American from the Pawnee Nation who serves in the Union Army during the American Civil War. However, the horror extends beyond that of just the war itself.

Two Moons #1, by John Arcudi and Valerio Giangiordano, goes on sale Feb. 24 from Image Comics.
