Image Comics Bolsters Relationship with Diamond Book Distributors UK

Official Press Release

Diamond Book Distributors UK (DBD UK) and Image Comics have reached an agreement naming DBD UK the exclusive distributor of the publisher's English-language graphic novels to the bookstore, library, warehouse club, and specialty mass merchandise markets in the United Kingdom and other countries.

Founded in 1992 by seven of the industries hottest talents - Erik Larsen, Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld, Todd McFarlane, Whilce Portacio, Marc Silvestri, and Jim Valentino, Image has gone on to become the third largest comics publisher in the United States. With its two partner studios - Todd McFarlane Productions (TMP) and Marc Silvestri's Top Cow Productions - the Image umbrella is responsible for some of comicdom's most widely read and iconic characters and stories, publishing both creator-owned material and licensed properties including Spawn, Witchblade, Invincible, Tomb Raider, and Battle of the Planets.

"Since its historic founding, Image has truly revolutionized the comics industry," said Diamond Vice President of Purchasing Bill Schanes. "We're sure its vast library of properties will be an asset for audiences in the United Kingdom."

"Image has enjoyed a long and fruitful partnership with Diamond," said Image Executive Director Eric Stephenson, "and we're excited by the possibilities of strengthening that relationship even more through DBD UK."
