Every installment of this feature is about odd comic book plot points that were rarely (sometimes NEVER!) mentioned again after they were first introduced.

We continue with a suggestion from reader Michael F., the odd thing between Forge and Jean Grey.

There was a period circa 1990 where the X-Men were scattered around the world (and, in some cases, the universe). They were hard to put back together because the world believed them to be dead. Banshee and Forge decided to team up to find the team, as they suspected that they were actually alive. For a few months, they worked together with X-Factor, primarily Jean Grey and Beast. Here they are, admiring Jean Grey's X-Men costume in an issue of Uncanny (where they also learn that the X-Men definitely ARE alive) with fill-in artwork by Kieron Dwyer and Joe Rubinstein...

Banshee and Forge didn't just team up with X-Factor in the pages of Uncanny X-Men, though. They also showed up in the pages of X-Factor, where in X-Factor #57, Louise Simonson (and artists Andy Kubert and Al Milgrom) dropped a rather odd bombshell courtesy of the Beast...

As you might imagine, that has never been mentioned anywhere again.

What a weird love triangle THAT would have been! Thanks to Michael for the suggestion!
