IDW Rises with Wasting the Dawn

Official Press Release

San Diego, CA (May 08, 2005) It is only natural for a child to seek to surpass his or her "parent", and that includes Randall Springfield. Unfortunately for Randall and his "brothers", their "mother" is not so eager to let that happen… and vampires are anything but natural.

Wasting the Dawn tells the story of Randall Springfield, who was turned centuries ago by Lisel. Although Lisel herself was turned a millennia go, she has no intentions to take "the final sleep" as expected, thus denying her children their right of maturity and forcing Randall to take matters into his own hands. Randall is joined by his familiar Rose and sets off to find brothers Knox and Swan to enlist their aid in standing up against Lisel and to ultimately destroy her.

Originally published as a series of zines distributed in San Diego coffee houses, Wasting the Dawn is the accumulation of over a decade's work by author David Hurwitz. Artist Breed provides the stunning artwork that accompanies this fresh take on the vampire tale.

Wasting the Dawn will be published as 200 page novel with illustrations in June 2005.
