Official Press Release

IDW and America Online Announce Alliance To Add Exclusive Content and Features to Comics & Anime Department on the RED™ Service for Teens

February 26, 2004, San Diego, CA and Dulles, VA -IDW Publishing, a San Diego based publishing and entertainment company, and America Online, Inc., the world's leading interactive services company today announced a collaboration that will give teens on the RED™ service, AOL's new service for teens, access to a host of exclusive content and features from a wide range of IDW's comics publications.

Through the RED Comics & Anime department and at AOL Keyword: IDW Comics, teens will have access to exclusive sneak previews of upcoming comic books, unpublished artwork and artist interviews. The first offering will be an exclusive weekly comic strip based on the popular comic book CVO: Covert Vampiric Operations, which is about a group of vampire secret agents who work for a branch of the CIA. CVO: Covert Vampiric Operations is in development as a major video game by Konami.

Ted Adams, President of IDW Publishing, says, "Partnering with AOL's RED service is a tremendous opportunity for IDW Publishing to reach the teen audience. Teens know what they want, and their preferred entertainment sources are likely to be nontraditional and cutting edge. Our publishing line is the same, so our challenge has been letting them know we're out here. By partnering with AOL, a leading online destination for teens, we can raise our visibility with this important audience."

"The alliance with IDW is a great addition to the Comics & Anime department on the RED service," said Malcolm Bird, Executive Vice President and GM Kids and Teens, America Online. "This is one of the fastest-growing areas on the RED service, and we are thrilled to be able to offer teens cool exclusives like sneak previews and unpublished artwork that we know they will love."
