IDW Publishing, producers of the smash-hit horror comic book series 30 Days of Night, has announced an agreement with uclick, a leader in digital entertainment, that will bring select IDW titles to mobile phones for the very first time through uclick’s GoComics mobile comic book offering on the mobile Internet at http://m.gocomics.com

Three IDW horror books, produced by a trio of popular, award-winning comic book and horror writers, will make their mobile debut on all major carriers this summer:

The Thief of Always - Master of horror Clive Barker’s tale of Mr. Hood’s Holiday House, a centuries-old attraction that promises to satisfy every whim of the children who visit…for a price.

Aleister Arcane - 30 Days of Night scribe Steve Niles introduces fans to a late-night horror movie host forced into early retirement by the “good’ folks of his Oklahoma hometown. They won’t enjoy his parting gift…

The Claws Come Out - Martians, werewolves, serial killers and B-movie monsters square off against a variety of tough women in this slam-bang collection of comedy/adventure stories by indie icon Pat Lewis.

The IDW titles will be featured in the expanded GoComics mobile comics and manga offering - available through the mobile Internet at http://m.gocomics.com or in the new GoComics Mobile Manga + Comics application. With these new platforms, GoComics reaches every comic fan with a mobile phone, including iPhones and smart phones. Comics and manga can be read for free with ads, or they can be purchased individually using points-based subscriptions.

“We’re very excited about providing IDW comics to uclick. They’ve already shown there is a lot of interest out there for mobile comics,” says Ted Adams, IDW President and CEO. “The digital format has a lot of potential for comics, especially as the displays and phone networks keep getting better and better. It means that the experience of viewing on a mobile phone screen is more engaging,” he says.

These new titles join a diverse collection of exciting comic books and manga optimized by GoComics for mobile phone screens. The star-studded lineup includes a wide-ranging selection of titles from powerhouse publishers such as Image Comics, Devil’s Due, Virgin Comics, Papercutz and TOKYOPOP.

“IDW has established itself as one of the most creative, cutting-edge comic book publishers in the world,” said Jeff Webber, Vice President of Product Development for GoComics. “We’re thrilled to welcome IDW to mobile and we’re especially excited to bring this group of titles from some of the most prominent names in horror to mobile phone users everywhere.”
