IDW Publishing has expanded its partnership with Marvel to include Artist's Editions and Micro Collectors Fun Packs for the classic Star Wars comics.

Launched in 2010, the Artist's Edition hardcover line presents complete stories scanned from the original art and printed at full size. IDW previously teamed with Marvel to produce Artist's Editions for Walter Simonson's The Mighty Thor, John Romita's The Amazing Spider-Man, John Byrne's Fantastic Four and David Mazzucchelli's Daredevil: Born Again.

“Since the inception of our Artist’s Edition program, we’ve had Star Wars on our wish list,” Greg Goldstein, IDW's president and chief operating officer, said in a statement. “During its original nine-year run at Marvel, an all-star list of artists provided material for these now classic comic books from the likes of Howard Chaykin, Walter Simonson, Carmine Infantino, Tom Palmer and of course the legendary Al Williamson, to name a few.”

Aimed at comic stores and retail chains, the publisher's Micro Collectors Fun Pack line features full-length, pocket-sized comics that include exclusive inserts, including posters, standees and stickers. The first Star Wars Micro Collectors Fun Pack is targeted for release in the fall.
