Fox has acquired "The Crusaders," a one-hour drama executive produced by Idris Elba.

Deadline reports the project, from Legendary TV and di Bonaventura Television, is written by filmmaker Thomas Ikimi, who worked with Elba on the 2010 psychological thriller "Legacy."

"The Crusaders" centers on an extended family of second-generation Africans living in the United States who specialize in finding and returning valuable objects stolen from Africa during its colonial occupation.

The drama expands the relationship between Fox and Elba, who's executive producing the remake of "Luther" for the network. That pilot was put on hold in the spring while they search for a star.
