Actor Idris Elba's busy schedule might just get busier, as he's in final talks to board Fox's adaptation of Mouse Guard.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Elba is close to taking on the role of Celanawe in Mouse Guard. The character is described as similar to Obi-Wan Kenobi, in that he's legend thought to be dead or missing. If he does join the project, he'll be working alongside Andy Serkis, Giancarlo Esposito and Thomas Brodie-Sangster.

Based on Eisner-winning comics created by David Petersen and published by BOOM! Studios, Mouse Guard is set in a medieval-style world compared to Game of Thrones. An order of mice are the sworn protectors of their realm, fending off other mice and the usual predators -- foxes, birds of prey and whatnot. Midnight (Serkis), a blacksmith, turns against the order and a new recruit, Lieam (Sangster), is called upon to prove his bravery.

Matt Reeves and Joe Hartwick, Jr. and producing, alongside Ross Richie and Stephen Christy from Boom! Wes Ball (The Maze Runner) is directing the movie. WETA, which boasts such credits as Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings, will handle visual effects. The production is currently targeting a start date in May.
