Idris Elba has updated fans on his coronavirus (COVID-19) status, telling fans he's asymptomatic but in "limbo," unable to return home to London.

Elba and his wife, Sabrina Dhowre, are in New Mexico where he was about to work on a film. The actor confirmed they are out of quarantine and are in good spirits, but neither of them likes to sit still. "Sabrina, she's getting cabin fever," he said.

"I thought I was, you know, definitely going to see the worst of it as an asthmatic, but thankfully, I came through, and you can, too," Elba said in his video. He thanked doctors, nurses and health care professionals for their work dealing with the crisis, and offered encouragement to people facing financial hardships. Elba finished with thanks to fans for their good wishes.

Elba is reportedly playing a new character in The Suicide Squad. The sequel to 2016's Suicide Squad wrapped in February and is slated for release Aug. 16, 2021.
