Fresh from winning a Golden Globe Sunday night for the BBC crime drama Luther, Idris Elba confirmed he'll return as Heimdall in Marvel's Thor sequel.
"Thor 2 for sure," the actor said when asked backstage by MTV News about any appearances in upcoming Marvel films. "Avengers, I'm not sure. But Thor 2, we're going at it again."
Elba's comments come only days after Jamie Alexander revealed she'll reprise her role as Sif in the film. "I'm a comic book nerd at heart, so I'd like to see the relationship between Thor and Sif progress," she told MTV News. "Whether or not they do that, we're not sure yet. We'll see. I think that element will be in there, but I don’t know how much."
The two actors join confirmed stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston for the sequel, which begins filming this summer in London. Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) will direct from a new script by Robert Rodat (Saving Private Ryan, Falling Skies).
Thor 2 opens Nov. 15, 2013.
