Icemen Meet in New Art from Bendis' "Uncanny X-Men" #600

During an installment of Marvel.com's Secret Wars Live Chat with Brian Michael Bendis, a number of new pages of art from some of the writer's upcoming releases -- including "Uncanny X-Men" #600, "Old Man Logan" #1 and "Ultimate End" #2 -- were revealed.

Two pieces of "Uncanny X-Men" #600 art from two separate stories within that oversized issue offered a first look at a pair of scenes that fans have been waiting to see. One double-page spread from Mahmud Asrar depicts a conversation between teenage Iceman and his adult self, with Jean Grey also present. Along with the pages, Bendis teased in the chat, "Just two Iceman talking. I wonder what they are talking about??" Bendis offered a bit more insight into the scene, which will be the first time teen Iceman has talked to his adult self after acknowledging his homosexuality, in a recent edition of X-POSITION here on CBR.

"The [coming out] scene [in 'All-New X-Men' #40], or this storyline, continues in 'Uncanny X-Men' #600, and I happen to know from knowing the plans of what's happening after me, [it continues] beyond me," said Bendis. "So it's a big part, and it will be interesting to some people. Whether they like it or not, I don't know, but you'll see a big chapter unfold in 'X-Men' #600. That chapter will be drawn by Mahmud Asrar who drew the other part [in 'All-New X-Men' #40]. I'm eager for people's reaction to that."

The third piece of art comes from artist Kris Anka and depicts a reunion between longtime friends and erstwhile romantic partners Kitty Pryde and Colossus. The reunion is a long time coming, as the two have not seen each other since Colossus' return to the X-Men in the pages of "Amazing X-Men" last year.
