Ice-T may have spent nearly 20 years being a cop on television, but he offered some dubious legal advice on Twitter about how to settle debts during the coronavirus pandemic. In a tweet, the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star commented that the stay-at-home orders issued in several states and cities provide an opportunity for people to recover what's theirs.RELATED: Doctor Strange Director Encourages You to Stay Home With New PosterIce-T stated, "If somebody owes you money... Put on your mask and pop up at their crib right now... They're Home."

Such advice plainly goes against the statewide order issued by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for residents to remain indoors and to limit non-essential travel during the pandemic.

In a more serious vein, Ice-T recently joined in honoring Josh Wallwork, a Law & Order: SVU costumer who died March 26 from coronavirus complications at age 45. Showrunner Warren Leight revealed the news in a tweet, which Ice-T retweeted, adding, "I worked with Josh every day... MAN! Pay attention people."

In another tweet, Ice-T noted that Wallwork is one of two people he knows who has died from the disease. "Stay safe people," he cautioned.

As Sgt. Odafin "Fin" Tutola, Ice-T has second-longest tenure on Law & Order: SVU, after star Mariska Hargitay. Ice-T joined the cast in Season 2. The show is on a production hiatus during the emergency.
