I Melt With You didn't turn a lot of heads at Sundance earlier this year, except for those that turned toward the theater exists to walk out on the movie. I didn't see it, but Magnolia Pictures must have seen something that the walkouts didn't, as the company ended up snatching up the movie for distribution.
Thomas Jane, Jeremy Piven, Rob Lowe and Christian McKay star as four childhood friends, the sum of whose shared experiences seem to largely involve the unmoderated consumption of narcotics. The movie finds them all later in life as they gather for an annual outing where they all do pretty much the same thing. Some bad mojo goes down, too, from the look of things. It's hard to know what to make of this movie, but I like the performers and I like any story that involves the reckless use of illegal drugs.
