Yorknew City arc, also known as the Phantom Troupe arc, is one of the most interesting story arcs in the Hunter x Hunter series and arguably the best one in the story.
Most of this arc focuses on the Phantom Troupe and Kurapika's quest for revenge, all centered around an auction. As expected of one of the best Hunter x Hunter arcs, several strong characters appear and make their presence known in the it, and here are the 10 strongest out of all of them.
10 Nobunaga
Nobunaga is one of the Phantom Troupe members and he played quite a decent role in the arc. Although his fighting prowess wasn't seen completely, fans got a glimpse of his skill with a sword and his ability to use Nen.
Nobunaga is an Emitter whose real prowess remains to be seen. His keen intellect, along with his skill to use En to his advantage makes him very dangerous.
9 Phinks Magcub
Phinks bears the #5 mark of the Spider and is one of the main members of the Phantom Troupe. Just like some others in the group, he also hails from Meteor City.
He's quite powerful, known to be the second-strongest in the group when it comes to physical strength. As an Enhancer, Phinks is really dangerous for anyone to fight and his Ripper Cyclotron technique gave fans a glimpse of what he is capable of.
8 Uvogin
Uvogin was one of the most powerful characters in the Phantom Troupe and ranked first in terms of physical strength alone. He also played quite a big role in the Yorknew City arc of Hunter x Hunter.
Uvogin fought the Shadow Beasts and did quite well against them. Furthermore, he also fought Kurapika, and although he lost, he put in quite a good display. His skills with Nen were incredible and it goes without saying that Uvogin was an exceptional fighter.
7 Feitan
Feitan is one of the strongest characters in the Hunter x Hunter series and his skill with Nen is known to be quite incredible. In the Yorknew City arc, Feitan didn't play a big role but he did kill those in his way quite effortlessly.
A good glimpse of his strength came much later in the Chimera Ant arc of the series where he defeated Zazan, a Squadron Leader.
6 Kurapika
Kurapika was the main focus of the Yorknew City arc. He aimed to retrieve the scarlet eyes of his clan members and avenge them by killing the Phantom Troupe as well.
He was able to kill two of their members in the arc, the first one being Uvogin, who lost the fight against him bitterly, and the second being Pakunoda. When it comes to fighting the Phantom Troupe, Kurapika is nigh unbeatable.
5 Illumi Zoldyck
Illumi Zoldyck is the older brother of Killua and a skilled assassin. He is known to be very powerful and has earned praise from even Hisoka, which just goes to show that he's truly a fearsome fighter.
In the Yorknew City arc, Illumi helped take care of the Ten Dons. Other than that, he played little role in the arc, however, that doesn't take away anything from his magnificent skills as a fighter.
4 Hisoka Morow
Hisoka was a member of the Phantom Troupe for quite a long time and he finally quit the group by the end of the Yorknew City arc.
His role is the arc wasn't all that great but he was still among the strongest in it. Thanks to his great prowess as a fighter and his skill as a master Nen user, Hisoka takes the fourth spot on the list.
3 Silva Zoldyck
Silva is one of the most powerful characters in the story and the leader of the Zoldyck family. He is an exceptional Nen user and his skills with Transmutation techniques are excellent.
Silva fought against Chrollo in the arc and had the support of Zeno as well. Despite that, Silva didn't really do any harm to Chrollo, indicating that he was slightly inferior.
2 Zeno Zoldyck
One of the strongest people in the Hunter x Hunter world, Zeno Zoldyck played quite a short role in the Yorknew City arc. He was seen in combat against Chrollo, and although neither of them was going all-out, Zeno fared quite well, despite being old.
According to Zeno, Chrollo could've possibly beaten him in battle had he gone all-out right from the get-go.
1 Chrollo Lucilfer
Chrollo Lucilfer is the head of the Phantom Troupe and the #0 member of the group. He is one of the strongest characters in the entire series and a glimpse of his skills was given to the fans in this arc.
Chrollo was seen leading a Requiem for Uvogin and he ended up clashing with Zeno and Silva. He fared quite well against the two of them, showing exactly why he is as feared as he is. According to Zeno, if Chrollo was serious, he could've won against him.
