Gon and Killua are two of the most prominent characters in the Hunter x Hunter series who also happen to be best friends. The two met during the Hunter Exam and have, since then, went on to become incredible Hunters together.
Gon and Killua work wonderfully well as a team and they also push each other to get stronger. Very few duos in the series possess strength and teamwork rivaling that of these two. Here are 5 Hunter x Hunter duos that can defeat Gon and Killua and 5 other that can't pull it off.
10 Can Defeat: Hisoka And Illumi
Hisoka and Illumi are two of the most powerful characters in Hunter x Hunter, both of which have temporarily served as members of the Phantom Troupe. Since their goals align at times, the two are often seen working together.
Both Hisoka and Illumi are a level above Gon and Killua at the moment. Despite the latter two having trained extremely hard during the Chimera Ant arc, Hisoka and Illumi are stronger.
9 Can't Defeat: Knuckle And Shoot
Knuckle and Shoot are students of Morel who made their introduction during the Chimera Ant arc. Considered to be powerful enough to fight the Chimera Ants, the two fought and defeated Killua and Gon and won the right to go to NGL.
Although they were stronger than Gon and Killua at the beginning of the arc, as the story progressed, they were left behind. Both Gon and Killua gained tremendous Nen powers during the arc which made them powerful enough to compete with even the Royal Guards.
8 Can Defeat: Netero And Zeno
Although quite old, Netero and Zeno are an incredible team, the strength of which can barely be matched by any other. The two go way back and were seen teaming up for the first time during the Palace Invasion event.
They were powerful enough to cause large-scale damage to Meruem's stronghold and Netero even swatted away Neferpitou, one of the Royal Guards, like a fly, showing that their strength was go be feared.
7 Can't Defeat: Morel And Knov
Morel and Knov made their debut during the Chimera Ant arc of Hunter x Hunter and we're personally summoned by Netero in the quest to crush the Chimera Ants. Both of them are seasoned Hunters and their skill and experience aren't to be underestimated.
Although they're very powerful, Gon and Killua's talent surpasses their power by quite a mile. During the beginning of the arc, Morel was certain that a hit from Gon's Jajanken would kill him. As the arc progressed, Gon got several times stronger and Killua kept up with him. By the end of the arc, Gon and Killua were definitely stronger.
6 Can Defeat: Ging And Kite
Ging Freecss is the father of Gon and a double-star ruins Hunter who was properly introduced during the 13th Chairman Election arc. His student, Kite, is an incredibly Hunter, just like Ging. Together, the two form an unbelievable team, although the fans never got to see them work together.
Nonetheless, it is safe to say that Gon and Killua, even at their best, won't be able to take on Ging and Kite.
5 Can't Defeat: Pokkle And Ponzu
Pokkle and Ponzu were both present during the 287th Hunter Examination and went on to become decent Hunters eventually. The two crossed paths again during the Chimera Ant arc and fought together against the threat admirably.
Unfortunately, their strength was limited and they couldn't overcome the Chimera Ants. Ultimately, both Pokkle and Ponzu died at the hands of Chimera Ants, while Gon and Killua went up against the strongest of the lot and survived.
4 Can Defeat: Menthuthuyoupi And Shaiapouf
Menthuthuyoupi and Shaiapouf were two of the three members of Meruem's Royal Guards. Being directly under Meruem, their powers were tremendous and even several Hunters together failed to stop just one of them.
Gon and Killua, while strong, would only be able to fight them momentarily. At the end of the day, their powers fall short of what is required to defeat two Chimera Ant Royal Guards.
3 Can't Defeat: Kurapika And Leorio
Kurapika and Leorio have got quite an interesting chemistry with each other and work very well together, despite quarreling quite often. Like Gon and Killua, they have a deep understanding of each other, making fighting them a difficult task.
Unfortunately, Leorio isn't even half as skilled as Kurapika, whereas both Gon and Killua are nearly equal in terms of power. It is quite apparent that Kurapika and Leorio would be at a severe disadvantage against them.
2 Can Defeat: Silva And Zeno
The strongest members of the Zoldyck family right now, Silva and Zeno often take up contracts and end up fighting together. This was seen first during the Yorknew City arc of Hunter x Hunter, where the two clashed with Chrollo and managed to stop him in his tracks easily.
Later on, Silva and Zeno also fought the Chimera Ants. Silva also managed to kill Cheetu, a Squadron Leader, with just one punch. Undoubtedly, this duo is much stronger than Gon and Killua at the moment.
1 Can't Defeat: Uvogin And Nobunaga
Known to be an incredible team, Uvogin and Nobunaga were two of the members of the Phantom Troupe who always fought together and brought the best out of each other.
Their strength was said to be majestic, however, Uvogin was easily defeated by Kurapika, while Nobunaga's powers don't seem to be anything special at the moment. Godspeed Killua and Gon, with his newfound abilities from the Chimera Ant arc, should be enough to defeat them in battle.
