Since getting its anime remake in 2011, Hunter X Hunter has become one of the most beloved series to date. From its emotionally-captivating characters to the fight scenes and use of abilities, all the way to its story and various arcs, it deserves its place among the best.

Isaac Netero was not only presented as the wise and respected Chairman of the Hunter Association but also as a powerful Hunter, despite his old age. Netero's alarming speed and strength are only shown occasionally, and each time is entertaining. He eventually falls to Meruem, but not before putting in a valiant showcase of his powers.

Netero's experience and surprising talents would certainly transfer well to being a seasoned veteran of a Pokémon Master. His team would mostly consist of Pokémon representing his physical prowess and unassuming speed, such as Medicham, Machamp, Greninja, and Ninjask. Drampa and Lopunny would be fun additions to round off his team that should not be underestimated.

9 Phinks Has The Look Of A Villainous Pokémon Trainer

Of all the standard Phantom Troupe members besides Chrollo and Hisoka, Phinks stands out as a potential Pokémon Master and villain. He is dedicated to the cause, and as an Enhancer he excels at tracking, tailing, perception, and hand-to-hand combat.

As a villainous Pokémon Master, his team would consist of classic evil typings of Dark and Poison, as well as some heavy-hitting Fighting types. Arbok, Drapion, Obstagoon, Cacturne, Toxicroak, and Sawk would certainly fit the bill.

8 Gon Has The Champion Personality To Be A Pokémon Master

As the central Hunter X Hunter protagonist, Gon would certainly be capable of going on an Ash Ketchum-like journey to eventually become a Pokémon Master. Gon's personality wouldn't settle for anything less, but he would get through all the tough times with sheer persistence and a good heart.

Gon should have a main Pokémon partner that is similar to Pikachu — adorable and a tough battler, all while never evolving. Helioptile, Eevee, and Aipom would all be great examples. Gon's Rock-Paper-Scissors Nen move could be represented through the Steel-type Kartana, Fire-type Flareon, and Rock-type Lyancroc. Lucario and Donphan could round out his diverse team.

7 Razor's Strength & Power Would Be Reflected Through His Team

Razor is introduced during the Greed Island arc as one of the Game Masters and associate of Gon's father, Ging. Razor was once a criminal before Ging helped him focus his efforts on something bigger. He has immense size and strength and is also skilled enough in Manipulation that he can control numerous Nen Beasts.

Razor showcases his powers through various sports, and it is easy to imagine various Pokémon supporting him in this environment if he were to be a Pokémon Master. Urshifu, Bewear, Primeape, Hitmontop, and Poliwrath would be essential in his formidable Fighting-type team.

6 Biscuit Is Not To Be Underestimated

Biscuit Krueger first appears to Gon and Killua during the Greed Island arc by introducing herself as a nosy little girl, but appearances can be deceiving. She is in fact a hulking and intimidating woman in her true form, with her transformation in front of people usually causing shock and alarm.

The fact that Biscuit trains Gon and Killua is a testament to how wise and capable she truly is. She would make a strong yet unpredictable Pokémon Master. Her team would likely be a bizarre mixture that could well include the likes of Bewear, Gardevoir, Tsareena, Espeon, Mimikyu, and Kangaskhan.

5 Killua Would Be A Dangerous Opponent With The Right Team Of Pokémon

Killua is a part of the Zoldyck family, who are a terrifying assortment of assassins. His life takes a different trajectory, however, when he meets Gon, Leorio, and Kurapika during the Hunter Exam. Killua learns the Nen type of Transmutation and becomes lethal with devastating offense focusing on Lightning.

Despite his age, Killua would be an exceptional Pokémon Master, focusing on species that represent both his Lightning attacks and his assassin skills. This would include Electric types such as Electivire, Raichu, and Luxray, with the team being completed by Scizor, Bisharp, and Zoroark. Zoroark would be perfect as his main companion.

4 Chrollo Would Assert His Dominance As A Tricky Pokémon Master

Chrollo Lucilfer is the founder and leader of the Phantom Troupe. Despite not being the strongest in physical strength, he is terrifying enough to justify his position of power. He's a born leader with a general calm and charismatic delivery that presents him as a final boss.

Chrollo's fighting skills and capabilities in using stolen abilities would make him the big bad in any Pokémon game. As an accomplished Pokémon Master, Chrollo would have a tough team of tricky Pokémon. This could feature the likes of Gengar, Thievul, Mightyena, Crobat, Aerodactyl, and Houndoom.

3 Kurapika's Dark Streak Could Heavily Influence His Pokémon Lineup

Despite initially being the voice of reason and wisdom for Gon, Killua, and Leorio, Kurapika's backstory is eventually explored in depth. This reveals his terrifying true nature and his overarching quest for vengeance on those who have wronged his people, the Kurta Clan. His Scarlet Eyes and Dowsing Chain are two of several terrifying tools at his disposal as he unleashes his justice.

His calm personality with the vengeful twists would make for a formidable opponent in the Pokémon universe. Kurapika's angry side could even see him become an anti-hero of a Pokémon Master. A team of Midnight Form Lycanroc, Absol, Weavile, Dhelmise, Gallade, and Mega Lucario would make him a force to be reckoned with.

2 Kite Would Have A Varied & Unusual Team That Would Spring Up Numerous Surprises

Kite is introduced in the immediate aftermath of the Greed Island arc, with Gon and Killua still in pursuit of Ging Freecs. Kite is revealed to have once been a disciple of Ging, with him turning mentor for Gon and Killua. He's eventually killed and reincarnated, but up until that point, he shows off his exceptional offensive prowess as a Hunter.

Kite's versatility means he would have a varied team as a Pokémon Trainer. A Scyther would represent his formidable scythe weapon, but the rest of the team could include numerous possibilities. Sirfetch'd, Clawitzer, Swanna, Alakazam, and Dragapult would complete a bizarrely diverse lineup.

1 Hisoka Would Be A Formidable Rival & Pokémon Master With A Menacing Team

Hisoka Morow is presented as a constant antagonist for Gon throughout Hunter X Hunter, but it isn't always a simple good guy-bad guy dynamic. Hisoka develops a disturbing admiration for Gon, and even sees him aid him on various occasions, all in the name of helping him to grow stronger. Hisoka is a member of the Phantom Troupe, but his ultimate ambitions lie in fighting Chrollo.

Hisoka's team as a Pokémon Master would represent him as a menacing Hunter who specializes in tricks and cons. Mr. Mime would represent the clown visage, but the rest of the team would likely consist of Dark, Psychic, and Ghost-types. Beheeyem, Jynx, Malamar, Grimmsnarl, and Gourgeist would form one bizarre team of tricksters that would make Hisoka a tough opponent to face.
